What Is Full of Holes but Still Holds Water? sounds impossible at first, because holes usually let water out! Think about it, then tap Show Answer.
Need a hint?
You’ll find it next to the kitchen sink or in the bathroom, and you squeeze it when you’re done.
Answer and explanation (spoiler!)
The answer is a sponge.
A sponge is covered in tiny holes, but those holes soak up water and hold it inside instead of letting it run out. Squeeze the sponge and the water comes back out.
The riddle works because we expect holes to leak, like a bucket with a hole in it. A sponge does the opposite.

FAQ
Are there other answers?
A sponge is the classic answer, but some people suggest a cloth or a towel, which also soak up water through tiny gaps.
Is a sponge really full of holes?
Yes. A sponge is made of thousands of little pockets called pores, which is why it can hold so much water.
